The plot begins as the humanoid robot Mega Man is called to investigate an energy reading coming from a recent meteor crash on an island.
Mega Man 8 is the first game in the series made available on 32-bit consoles. The following year, Mega Man 8 saw a release on the Sega Saturn and was localized for both consoles in North America and the PlayStation alone in PAL regions. It is the eighth installment in the original Mega Man series, and was initially released in Japan on the PlayStation in 1996. Keiji Inafune, who was also an artist for the series, was given the role of producer after the departure of Tokuro Fujiwara, who had been producer for the series since Mega Man 2. It was directed by Hayato Kaji, who had previously worked on the series as an artist. This has been fixed for the Portuguese version as well.Mega Man 8 is an action-platform video game developed and released by Capcom in 1996. When Bass tells Treble to attack, a prompt arrow would appear outside the dialogue box (there wasn’t even a prompt arrow at all in the JP version). Elsewhere, the main, random and shop dialogues, the ending credits, the weapon and item menus, the password error message, and even the Versus Mode have been fully translated and/or edited accordingly, and the game now also uses accented characters.įinally, the US version introduced a formatting error not present in the JP version, in the dialogue between Mega Man and Bass when they meet for the second time in Wily’s Fortress. This translation attempts to be the most comprehensive, non-english fan translation of the game, as it goes beyond simple text editing: level and intro graphics, along with the “READY” animation at the start of each level, have also been modified to make it fully Portuguese. This is a Portuguese (Portugal/PT) translation for Mega Man 7 (US), built upon the Restoration hack created by SCD and rainponcho, which brings back the Lab Talk with Roll and Auto, the Boss Pre-texts and the original JP ending dialogue, which does not suddenly turn Mega Man into a deranged robot.
